We are a team with diverse experiences in some of world’s largest businesses and academic institutions. Our leadership is based in London, Boston, and Dubai. We combine executive expertise in global business centres with on-the-ground experience across the Americas, Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia.
The Article Six Group’s roots lie in the urgent need for innovation to increase climate finance. Our name comes from Article 6 Investment, the climate finance mechanism that was developed by our founder, Ely Sandler, and colleagues at Harvard University as a new approach for developing countries to finance critical climate infrastructure. Ely subsequently worked with the World Bank and other international organizations to further this research, before beginning broader efforts to turn Article 6 and carbon markets into large-scale climate investment. We now work broadly to advance new collaborative approaches to mobilize private sector finance and solve climate change.
By working with the private sector, we help to facilitate transformative climate action at scale. Our partners include EY, E.ON, South Pole, and other market leaders.
By working with local and national governments, we harness climate finance to bring infrastructure to where it is most needed and implement solutions on-the-ground. In Africa and the Middle East, we have worked with the governments of Ghana, Rwanda, Burundi, Jordan, and Morocco. We are now expanding our focus to include Latin America and Southeast Asia.
By developing policy proposals with academic, corporate and public sector partners, we create frameworks for innovation to succeed and take effect. Our team has published work with Harvard University, Oxford University, and the London School of Economics, as well as with institutions like the World Economic Forum and Gold Standard.
